PKM in 40 Days

Personal Knowledge Mastery

How do you make sense of all the data, information, and knowledge that passes by you each day? How do you connect with other professionals?
The discipline of PKM helps to develop four work skills, identified by the Institute for the Future: sense-making; social intelligence; new media literacy; and cognitive load management.
The Personal Knowledge Mastery workshop, conducted over 40 days, comprises 18 activities (60–90 minutes each), spaced through six weeks, in addition to resources, links, and tips. Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday a new assignment is posted in the online community space. People can work on their own or share with other participants as they like. At the end of the workshop, an additional 14 days are provided for reflection or catch-up, so participants have access for 54 days in total.
This workshop has had hundreds of participants from around the world. Custom workshops for organizations also can be arranged.
The next open workshop begins on 18 May 2015, with no further workshops scheduled until September.
Price: $299

PKM is a set of processes, individually constructed, to help each of us make sense of our world and work more effectively. PKM means taking control of your professional development, and staying connected in the network era, whether you an employee, self-employed, or between jobs. The active practice of PKM can help increase Connections, develop Meaning, and improve Autonomy, all necessary skills in the network era. This can be the beginning of your journey to personal knowledge mastery.

“I signed up, read a few pages, already had 2-3 deep learnings! BOOM!” – Jonathan Anthony
“As a master mapping out a pathway for followers, I think you’ve neatly avoided the common trap of being overly prescriptive and kept it to a minimum of discrete steps.” – Chris Mansell
“Therefore, if I were to comment on this program, Harold, I’d have to say it’s brilliant: it offers something for all of us. But it’s up to each of us to take what you offer; make SENSE of it and filter it to identify information that is immediately useful vs useful later vs less useful, then SHARE key insights formed as a result of having gone through this process.” – Chemene Sinson
“I encourage you to sign up for the workshop in Personal Knowledge Mastery.” – Kenneth Mikkelsen
“‘PKM is the perfect ‘tool’ for supporting culture change in both your organization and those you interact with.” – Kate Pinner
“This exercise has been great (the course has paid for itself already!) in identifying a blind spot.” – Shaun Coffey
